The subject of this time designed a plastic mold for the battery cover of the remote control in the two –cavity form with the help of analysis of plastic mold forming process with Pro/Engineer. The structure of the injection mold is related to various factors such as the type of the plastic，the structure of the part，and the type of the injection machine. The basic structure is composed of a fixed mold and a movable mold. Therefore，there are many factors to consider when designing. It is necessary to determine the design method by combining the characteristics of the plastic used ，the structure of the part，and the requirements of use. Including the layout of the cavity，the selection of the parting surface， the method of demolding，and the design of the other mechanisms including the guiding mechanism，the pouring system，the pushing mechanism and the exhaust system. Then，we designed the molding parts according to related process design requirements of processing and assembly. The molded parts include moving stencils，fixed stencils, punch dies , inserts , etc. after determining the dimensions of these components，we use Pro/E to create the 3D model and then complete 2D map with AutoCAD.
The use of Pro/E software for plastic mold design can greatly improve the efficiency of the design，the design work becomes simple，the design cycles is no longer as long as before，and the cost is reduced. The use of Pro/E to design molds has slowly replaced traditional methods，known as the mainstream methods of the mold design.
